COMPANY BACKGROUND
Incorporated in 1975, Weighdata Limited, the parent company of Harford
Control developed a pioneering electronic balance for industrial use in the
stock control of small electric components. This was successfully exported to
Japan and Brazil for over a decade. In the 1980s Harford were the first company
to apply statistical process control techniques to weight control systems for
packers needing to weight control systems with EEC average contents regulations.
For the past 20 years Harford Weight Control Systems have evolved
into flexible Quality Management systems to control all other product quality
attributes and variables. This has satisfied the ever-increasing quality and
supply chain demands of large retail store groups as well as Environmental
Health and Trading Standards authorities. Product range and depth continues
to expand in line with consistent year on year Research and Development
investments in excess of £200,000 per annum.
This investment in the past 5 years has further increased the flexibility
of Harford to cover the real-time management of information on production,
quality and line efficiency. This development plus the required real-time information
on current production and quality status is now available on every manager's
network PC. This presents the opportunity to apply resource quickly to any
highlighted problem.
